Based on the 1950 Broadway musical by composer and lyricist Frank Loesser, the 1955 musical film Guys and Dolls starred some heavy hitters. Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine all had roles in the movie about New York gamblers and criminals. The film was nominated for all sorts of awards and became an international success. It shows today at 10 at the Capitol Theatre as part of the Sunday Classic Brunch and Movie Series. Tickets are $10 and that includes a champagne Intermission with pastries and a complimentary glass of champagne or ginger ale. (Niesel)
