Boy, do Treeka Wong and Peter Liu have great buns: big, pillowy, dim-sum-style buns, that is, stuffed with everything from pineapple custard and chestnut puree to barbecued pork, curried beef, and even hot dogs. Delicious and authentic, these delicacies are inexpensive, highly portable, and just right for eating on the run. In fact, our current favorite boxed lunch is a couple of savory barbecued pork buns and a plump, cream-filled dessert bun, nibbled at one of the tidy tables in the hallway outside the bakery. The entire affair checks in at less than $3 and provides what we think is the most interesting and economical meal in the city.
