Since 1998, the Sisters of St. Dominic have sold produce from their 130-acre farmstead. For a flat fee of $575 annually, the nuns provide enough fresh produce to feed two strict vegetarians (or a family of four omnivores) for as long as the growing season lasts -- usually around 24 weeks. If you can dedicate 30 hours a season to working on the farm, the fee drops to $475. The sisters grow more than 40 types of vegetables and over 100 varieties. They also offer optional shares in fresh-baked bread, free-range eggs, flowers, and mushrooms.
