Gotta Groove Records

When vinyl records died out back in the late 1980s, they were silenced without any real proof that consumers didn't want them anymore. So a few stubborn independent labels continued to make them while the rest of the world continued its slog toward the era of downloading — and a generation later, a few of them still do. As record albums have exploded all over again, Cleveland's Gotta Groove jumped aboard the wave. Vince Slusarz snapped up vintage pressing equipment and dropped it in an old warehouse in the Superior-St. Clair neighborhood, where he got Gotta Groove up and running a year ago. Now he's taking orders from around the country, and record bins in stores everywhere are filling up with new releases off his presses.
