Best Sledding

Hinckley Hills

If there's one good thing about winter — at least for those of us who don't ski — it's sledding. It's OK — grown men and women can admit liking it or at least wanting to do it. No shame there. When the mercury hits freezing and enough snow covers Northeast Ohio to turn every commute into a two-hour affair, it's a perfect time to pick up that plastic disc or vintage metal coaster and head down to the Hinckley Reservation. The hill's long and wide, the park clean and beautiful, and the crowd is usually just the right size to amplify the ambiance but not obstruct your path. The white stuff isn't going anywhere, might as well enjoy it. (State Road between Bellus and Ledge roads, clemetparks.com) — Grzegorek
