Pro Football Hall of Fame Archives: Bonus Photo Show

A lot of photos and tidbits didn't make the original story for a variety of reasons. Here's a bunch of bonus stuff.

The older helmets in the Hall's collection.

Mark Kelso's "pro-cap" helmet, which came to the Hall via Jim Kelly, one of the biggest private collectors out there.

(Many more photos after the jump.)

Just like at Macy's, there's a coat rack. But instead of 75% sale items, it's filled with legendary jackets and sweaters and such. The Hogettes dress is in there.

Among their football helmet collection, which stretches from the earliest of early versions to today's modifications, they have some designs that have since fallen by the wayside.

In a 1957 playoff game between, the 49ers were beating the Lions so handily that they started printing tickets for the NFL championship game between the Browns and 49ers. One problem: The Lions came back and won in what was considered the greatest comeback ever until the famous Oilers/Bills match-up of recent memory.

Did I mention how much random stuff they have?

The Hall really doesn't have a great storage or organizing system for artwork. A lot is just stacked on these shelves, and a lot is hung up in the staff's offices.

The football row. Each one of those boxes costs about $10.

More randomness.
