Come on, man. Seriously, you couldn't wait until you got home? And on the taxpayer's dime, no less.

This story, courtesy of our pals down at the Columbus Dispatch, really makes the office-bound among us peer suspiciously over the cubicle wall at co-workers — never know what's going on over there on the company-issued desktop. Is the office WiFi slow today? Maybe it's because someone like Rodney “Double-Click” Clinger is taking advantage of the bandwidth.

Clinger, 56, was a Morrow County commissioner until last year. As part of a fraud investigation, the Bureau of Criminal Investigations seized a number of county computers, including Clinger's. A hard drive sweep turned up a “large volume of pornographic material.”

He pleaded no contest yesterday to a single misdemeanor charge of unauthorized use of a computer, as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors in the case.

Visiting Richland County Common Pleas Judge James D. Henson sentenced Clinger to one year of probation and fined him $1,000, according to a spokesman from the state attorney general’s office, which assisted in the investigation. A 180-day jail sentence was suspended and Clinger resigned his position as commissioner immediately, as part of the deal.
