Each fall, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum devotes a week to a series of educational programs honoring one of rock & roll's pioneers and/or major influences in its American Music Masters series.

This year, the 17th for the program which has honored the likes of Robert Johnson, Woody Guthrie, Janis Joplin, and Jerry Lee Lewis, the Rock Hall will honor an ubiquitous influencer: Chuck Berry.

"“Chuck Berry created the language of rock and roll,” said Terry Stewart, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in the museum's press release. “We stand on his foundation, and we are thrilled to honor him and welcome him to Cleveland.”

The presence of a live honoree is always a treat, and the quirky, outspoken Berry is likely to provide some memorable moments.

The American Music Masters series will run from October 22 through October 27, will films, panels & lectures, as well as the usual daytime conference and gala multi-artist concert at PlayhouseSquare on the final day.
