What is Proper Etiquette When Dealing With a Bathroom Attendant?

This week's feature story is a profile of Door George, the longtime Flats' mainstay who worked for years at Circus and basically running Cleveland's adult entertainment world before shuffling to a job as the bathroom attendant at the Hustler Club.

There's plenty of gold in George's story — really, go read it, it's fabulous — but George isn't the only bathroom attendant in town (though there are only a handful.)

We caught up with Brian at the Diamond Men's Club to run through just how the hell you're supposed to act (and not act) when a bathroom attendant is manning the John you run in to.

How long have you been in the game?

BRIAN: Twenty-one years, 11 at Diamond. Before that at Christie's on the West Bank.

What's your most essential item Other than paper towels, mints.

What's a standard tip? $1

Biggest tip? $385 from Ross Verba, former Browns' Lineman. He just kept pulling out Benjamins.*

Notable celebrity sightings? Mike Fratello used to come here. And once I saw Charles Barkley, when he was on the Suns.

Craziest Thing You've Seen? Masturbation in the men's stall. People sometimes start whacking off to the beats out there, but once... it was everywhere.

*Verba played for the Browns from 2001-2005. He's been unemployed since 2007 when he was released by the Lions after writing $50,000 worth of bad checks at a casino in Vegas. He was arrested again in 2009 for failing to repay a Casino marker (~$26,000), again in Vegas.
