Anthony Paul was eliminated from "The Voice" this past week.
His performance of Jason Derulo's "The Other Side" was admittedly not his best. Paul tweeted, "first of all, in my opinion that was my worst performance ever, and the fact that I still have so much support is incredible."
According to WKYC, Paul has resumed his college studies in Chicago.
Last Monday, Twinsburg local Anthony Paul was chosen to be a part of Team CeeLo on NBC’s “The Voice.” The reality show matches new musical talent with one of four celebrity coaches, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, or Blake Shelton. The coaches select their mentees through blind auditions.
Paul, 18, graduated from Twinsburg High School, where he performed with the decorated Great Expectations show choir. The then high school senior won “Best Male Vocalist” in the 2013 DeKalb Show Choir Invitational for his performance of The Drifter’s “Under the Boardwalk.” The Great Expectations were awarded the Grand Championship, as well as Best Vocals and Best Choreography.
Paul won his spot on “The Voice” by performing Chris Brown’s “With You.” CeeLo thinks that “[Paul has] a strong chance” of winning. Paul now faces the next three stages of the competition: the battle rounds, the knockouts and the live performance shows. Root for Anthony Paul on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
