What a disgusting article and a slap in the face to those of us with Irish heritage. We're proud of our lineage. I couldn't even finish this article. Scene - you should fire this writer or at the very least issue an apology.
The city uses the oldest trucks in their fleet in my neighborhood. That fancy arm? I've never seen it in my neighborhood. The garbage men manually dump the cans into the truck. How does the city expect that they are going to police every resident along with doing their jobs (kudos to them for even doing that crappy job) without taking more time that they don't have to complete their job? This is nothing more than a City of Cleveland money grab. I don't know how mandatory recycling will even stand up in court.
Yes, we've all said something we regretted later. But, we aren't on TV reporting the news. She cannot afford to make that kind of error! I would have thought that's something she learned in college.
Well said, unscrewed11! I agree 100% with everything you said. This man (well, not a man. . .not really) is a disgusting excuse for what passes as a human being. Yes, let's hope he practices on himself.
And to answer Lee's question, "yes" it was done fairly recently. I think within the past 5-10 years. A road should last longer than that! The city takes the lowest bids and runs with them without thinking that maybe that's not the right way to go. Cheap is cheap. You get what you pay for. I'd rather my taxes go to having it done right the first time and not having it done by some buddy of the mayor.
West Blvd. is another one that needs to be done sooner rather than later. Someone broke a tie rod in one of the holes at W. Blvd and Walford. There are two there that are dangerous. I hit one of them. Thankfully, I was going slow enough that it didn't damage anything.
