Dance Fever

When: Sat., Nov. 2 2013

When disco became popular in the ’70s, it had its fair share of haters who thought it diminished the quality of rock n’ roll. But even acts such as the Rolling Stones embraced some of disco’s funky bass riffs and synthesizer flourishes. In retrospect, disco looks like a cool musical movement, even if some of the outfits and dance moves were rather cheesy. Disco Dada Dreamscape, Spaces’ 35th anniversary annual benefit and art auction, celebrates all things disco. The event kicks off tonight at 7 with a VIP reception that includes entry to the private lounge and free drink tickets. Then, the doors open to the general public at 8 p.m. VIP tickets cost $135 and general public tickets are $45. If you’re just looking to dance, come at 10 p.m. and only pay $10 for a ticket.
