In the spare moments Paul Reiser triangulates between writing New York Times bestselling books, producing TV pilots and being a family man, he's been known to MC a charity event or two. Reiser, who performs tonight at 7:30 and 10:30 at Hilarities, got his legs back at some local clubs and now he's on tour, doing what he frankly always wanted to do. The sitcoms and the movies always felt like digressions, he says, from a very early stand-up impulse. Reiser's had to acclimate to night club hours and constant travel, but he's finding that his material is coming naturally now that he's devoting himself fully to it. But with Reiser at the mic, you don't go to hear the punchlines. You go for the special thrill of nudging your date or spouse and saying, “My God, babe, he's talking about us.” He performs tonight at 7:30 and 10 and tomorrow night at 7 and 9:30 at Hilarities. Tickets are $25 for tonight, and $28 for tomorrow night. (Sam Allard)
