If you came of age in the early 2000s, then Franz Ferdinand is responsible for one of the most iconic radio riffs and, later, college bar throwbacks of your life. The band was struck by the incredible success of “Take Me Out” in 2004, and they never did surmount that hurdle. Later albums, however, are riddled with gems here and there. Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions rolls along at a good clip, offering enough hooks to make a fine album. “Stand on the Horizon” into “Fresh Strawberries” carries some of the one-off hit rhythmic fun from a decade prior, while generally taking more time with constructing a dynamic song.
