Great change! The point is not the quality of food at the chain restaurants. The point is that we can know what that restaurant is like by going to any other of their restaurants in any other city/area. I love Bob Evans. That doesn't mean I think it should be reviewed in a local food column.
We don't know about all the many local restaurants. They don't have the big advertising budgets of the chains, and we rely on restaurant reviews to help us learn about them.
