A weekly roundup of the top newsmakers in town.

1. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony: The legendary Cleveland rap group reunites for a 20th anniversary show, putting on a 90-minute concert after five hours of opening acts that sometimes left the stage early or were booed. But no member of Bone was arrested, so two good things happened.

2. Jim Tressel: The disgraced former Ohio State coach and current University of Akron employee joins WKYC as a weekly contributor in a segment called “A Moment with Jim Tressel.” Ostensibly, that moment will be time when you can confess crimes to Tressel that he’ll never share with anyone else.

3. Kaboom: A man named Kaboom —yes, that’s his legal name — leaves his walking stick, which has “Kaboom” written on it, at Akron City Hall, which is then evacuated because of the vaguely explode-y word. Kaboom’s wife, Kapow, was unavailable for comment, but was seen shaking her head.

4. Tim McGinty: The interim prosecutor and favorite to win the position in next month’s election announces crackdowns, including a ban on employees running for partisan offices. Hopes to make the ban permanent once he’s done running for office.

5. Terry Francona: The former Red Sox skipper and ESPN analyst is announced as the new manager of your Cleveland Indians. Smiled during the press conference when he spotted dad and former Indian Tito Francona in the back. Frowned when he saw Matt LaPorta.
