Buddy Maver played in Cleveland bands like the Quantrells, Bocky & the Visions, Richie & the Fortunes, Charade and Rainbow Canyon throughout the ā€˜60s and ā€˜70s. Rainbow Canyon was even signed to a major label for a minute. Maver then booked the groups that played the Cleveland Agora from 1976-1982, the period that was arguably its heyday. He was responsible for bringing acts such as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, the Pretenders, the Clash, Patti Smith and Todd Rundgren to the club. The guy will speak about his experiences at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Space: ROCK Gallery (15721 Waterloo Road), the new rock ā€˜nā€™ roll themed art gallery located next door to the Beachland. Sponsored by the nonprofit Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present, and Future, the interview will be followed by a Q&A session and it will be recorded and archived at the Rock Hall Library and Archives. Admission is free but donations will be accepted. Find more information on Cleveland Rocks here and on the gallery here.
