Update: The folks at Alternative Press magazine have just announced the lineup for this year's Music Awards, which are slated to take place at the Q on July 17.

The hard rock act Against Me!, the pop-punk group All Time Low, indie rockers Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness (the solo project of the Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin frontman), Cleveland hip-hop heroes Bone Thugs N Harmony, nu-metal icons Korn, local actor/rapper Machine Gun Kelly, horror-rock favs New Years Day, the Japanese rock group ONE OK ROCK, screamo rockers Pierce the Veil, and rock acts the Pretty Reckless and Sleeping With Sirens will all perform.

"We're really excited to perform at this year's awards and are looking forward to seeing all our fans in Cleveland," says Korn's Jonathan Davis in a press release. "I performed at the first ever APMAs back in 2014 with Asking Alexandria and it's been awesome to watch how this show has grown over the years."

Tickets are on sale now.

Previous Update 3/30/2017:

Earlier today, Alternative Press magazine announced that its annual Music Awards will take place at Quicken Loans Arena, marking a return to the venue that hosted the 2015 awards. The magazine had previously announced a date for the 2017 awards but not a venue.

"It's so amazing to bring the AP Music Awards back to the legendary Q Arena here in Cleveland," says Alternative Press CEO Mike Shea in a press release. "It's a world-famous sports and entertainment venue and for us to hold the fourth annual APMAs here is still such a humbling experience. This year we're shaking things up a bit with the show for those who attend in person, as it'll be a true produced-for-television experience. It'll be like attending a taping of Colbert or Kimmel and the audience will be an active part of the award show's production."

He says he aims to turn the awards into the kind of event that would typically take place in Los Angeles or New York.

"The APMAs were already a once-in-a-lifetime event because of the unique performances and the handing out of our annual awards, but now we're ramping up the night's excitement even more by making it more of a live television experience."

Previous Update 2/15/2017: Earlier today, our friends at the locally based Alternative Press magazine announced that Black Veil Brides frontman, alt-pop artist and “raconteur extraordinaire” Andy Biersack will host this year’s Alternative Press Music Awards, which take place in Cleveland on July 17.

In addition to fronting Black Veil Brides, Biersack heads up the alt-pop solo project Andy Black.

"I am so honored to be hosting this year's fourth annual APMAs,” he says in a press release. “I've attended every APMAs, and I've been fortunate to have a favorite moment every year. As host, I want to make people feel happy and create favorite moments for them, too. I want them to be stoked, whether they are attending the event or watching it from their homes."

Alternative Press CEO Mike Shea speaks highly of Biersack.

"Andy is one of the most dynamic and engaging musicians I think I've ever met,” he says. “Besides being an amazing frontman on the rock stage, he's also one of the funniest off-stage. Over the past year, he's been bringing his comedic side to fans while touring with his Andy Black project, and when we heard that he was interested in hosting the APMAs, we thought that there could be some real magic here in the making. Even before we got down into the details, he had already dissected other hosts' successes and failures on other award shows and came to us with an entire analysis of what he could bring to the APMAs. We are really excited about his enthusiasm and dedication to the show, and we know that music fans worldwide are going to be happily surprised to see the results."

Original Post:
After two consecutive years in Cleveland, this year’s Alternative Press Music Awards moved to Columbus to avoid a scheduling conflict with the Republic National Convention.

Now, the locally based music magazine has announced the awards will return to Cleveland in 2017.

The event will take place on July 17.

"We've got some big things planned for the APMAs in 2017, and we're so happy that we get to return to our hometown to make it all happen,” says Alternative Press founder and CEO Mike Shea in a press release. “The city of Cleveland is one of the hottest revitalized cities in the nation, and we are proud of our ongoing contribution to the city's growth."

This year, some 6,000 fans attended the event which featured performances by A Day To Remember, Good Charlotte, Yellowcard, Of Mice & Men, Papa Roach, BABYMETAL, Issues, the Maine, Mayday Parade and Beartooth.

Details regarding the venue, tickets and VIP packages, hosts, nominees, honorees, attending/performing artists, red carpet appearances and related events will be announced in the new year at altpress.com/apmas.
