A whopping 16 Pearl Jam songs will provide the soundtrack to the season finales of Cold Case, a CBS show I've never seen.
Hot on the heels of the excellent deluxe reissue of their debut album, Pearl Jam hasn't been this hot since they dragged Tickemaster into court.
The two-part finale — "The Long Blue Line" and "Into the Blue" — will air on May 3 and May 10, and it's about the Cold Case crew looking into the murder of a female military-school cadet in 2005. Apparently, Pearl Jam songs were still really big on campus that year. At least most of the songs come from Ten and not one of their shitty albums, like, say, Binaural or Riot Act.
Our idea for a neat twist ending: The murdered girl shows up at the Cold Case offices at the end of the season finale and starts singing "I'm still alive." Could work, no? —Michael Gallucci
