Seriously — anyone dancing around like this with no freakin' music playing deserves to fall offstage.
And if you're old enough to get a sizable discount on your Grand Slam Breakfast at Denny's, you shouldn't be dancing like this at all. Period.
We're all for rockers trying to keep the show going when technical screw-ups happen. But Steven Tyler should've known better than to flop around like some spastic old clown on the edge of a stage. Hasn't he been doing this long enough to know where a stage ends?
It's bad enough that Aerosmith have been playing shows without guitarist Brad Whitford and bassist Tom Hamilton. (Not to mention guitarist Joe Perry was hobbling around backstage at the Rock Hall inductions in April with a cane.) Now Tyler's gonna be on the road with a broken shoulder and a busted head. By the time the band plays Blossom Music Center on September 10, we'll be lucky if they can even play their instruments. I'm sure the fans who shelled out $125 for a ticket are happy to hear this.—Michael Gallucci
