Testicle-Gargling Steely Dan Coming to Town

Seth Rogen may have claimed that Steely Dan "gargles my balls" in Knocked Up, but I side more with Paul Rudd, who defended the arch and artsy duo in the movie.

Admittedly, Steely Dan make more sense when you get older, when their dry, smart-ass lyrics and jazzy melodies play better to older, more seasoned ears (it took me years to really get into them, and I still have trouble sitting down and enjoying much of their work).

The band is playing two shows at Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall: One includes 1977's Aja in its entirety; the other includes all of 1976's The Royal Scam.

The shows are at 7:30 p.m. on November 16 (Aja) and 17 (Scam).

Tickets range from $61-$148 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at E.J. Thomas' box office, at ticketmaster.com and livenation.com. —Michael Gallucci
