More than two dozen local original musicians and bands — most from the Akron area — will be playing on five stages at Art in the Square in Akron’s Highland Square neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.
The better-known names include the raw, punk-inflected Full Wave Rectifier, folkie rockers the House Popes, singer-songwriter Zach, roots band Hey Mavis, the melodic rock of Rachel’s Secret Stache, and soulful bluesy singer Colin John, performing what’s billed as “a special set of earth music.”
The event also features artist booths, a farmers market, kids’ activities, a pet pageant, tai chi demonstrations, and performances by area theater troupes as well. Go to ilovethesquare.com for a full schedule and map of the stages and booths. —Anastasia Pantsios
