When: Fri., Oct. 31 2014
For more than 15 years, the local classical ensemble Apollo's Fire has included Monteverdi’s the Vespers of 1610 in its repertoire. Now, Artistic Director Jeannette Sorrell is taking the show on the road for a 9-city tour. But before hitting the road, the group will perform four shows in Northeast Ohio. The concerts take place at 7:30 tonight at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Akron, at 8 tomorrow night at Trinity Cathedral, at 8 on Sunday night at St. Mary of the Falls in Olmsted Falls and at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at First Baptist Church in Shaker Heights. Italian renaissance and baroque specialist Dr. Marica Tacconi, a visiting scholar from Penn State University, will present a lecture one hour before each performance on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2. Tickets range from $20 to $68. (Niesel) apollosfire.org.
