A Christmas Comedy

When: Thu., Dec. 12 2013

Suzanne Barrington (Anna Margaret Hollyman), a real estate agent living in Virginia, is your typical suburban housewife. When a sudden tragedy derails her Christmas plans, she begins hanging out with strippers and swingers and goes through a transformation. That's the premise for writer-director Zach Clark's White Reindeer. The film has been called a version of Home Alone if edgy underground director Todd Solondz had been at the helm, and that's an apt description. It was a big hit when it premiered earlier this year at the South by Southwest Film Festival. It screens tonight at 6:45 and tomorrow night at 9:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $9. (Jeff Niesel)
