A Clinic on Revenge

Arrogant doctors. Bitchy nurses. It's like Grey's Anatomy without the commercials.

Adrienne Zurub hasn't been boo-hooing in the unemployment line since she got canned from the Cleveland Clinic in January; she's simply pimping her scathing, tell-all memoir about her 26-year nursing stint, Notes From the Mothership: The Naked Invisibles. The autobio describes a hospital environment filled with potty-mouthed staff and ruled by several doctors, including one physician who Zurub claims is an "arrogant, misogynistic, dehumanizing yet brilliantly talented bastard." Go on, girl! She also characterizes the clinic as a prison, where nurses forge alliances with doctors to keep their jobs. "I have observed angry, uncontrolled behavior from so-called educated people that on the street would get them arrested, beat up, or shot." Zurub writes. She signs her book from 7 to 9 tonight at Joseph-Beth Booksellers, 24519 Cedar Road in Lyndhurst. Admission is free. Call 216-691-7000 or visit www.josephbeth.com.
