A Four-Hour Flick

When: Fri., Sept. 5 2014

If your Friday evening is wide open, a four-hour film at the Cleveland Institute of Art could be in the cards for you. It’s an epic from the Philippines which was received with jubilant ovation at the Cannes Film Festival. Basically, a bitter law student commits a grisly double murder and then faces the repercussions. Time Out New York says Norte, The End of History is the first movie since Edward Yang’s Yi Yi with a massive running time that you still wish was twice as long. Wear comfortable pants, we say, and bring a butt cushion. Tickets at the Cinematheque are, as usual, $9. (Allard)
