Seasonal Special Happenings

A Pryor Commitment

When: Fri., Aug. 9, 5:15 p.m. and Sat., Aug. 10, 9:45 p.m. 2013

Funnyman Richard Pryor plays three different roles in the 1977 comedy, Which Way is Up?, a remake of the 1972 Italian film The Seduction of Mimi. Pryor, who portrays orange picker Leroy Jones, his father and the priest who impregnates Leroy’s wife, isn’t at his best in the film, which received generally negative reviews on its release. But the film, which shows tonight at 5:15 and tomorrow night at 9:45 at the Cleveland Institute of Cinematheque, has become a cult classic. The Cinematheque will screen a new 35mm print from the Universal Pictures studio archive. Tickets are $9. (Jeff Niesel)
