A Reason to Believe

When: Sat., July 26 2014

Singer-guitarist Charlie Mosbrook, a veteran on the local folk-rock scene who became a quadriplegic in 2010, but he's still active on the local music scene. And he's still putting out great music. He's described last year's Something to Believe, as "new songs for the 19th century," but the songs don't sound that archaic. "A World Not Seen" and "Shining Through" have a '70s vibe to them and evoke Cat Stevens; they're such great songs, it doesn't matter if they don't fit with the new folk-rock fad. He performs tonight at 7 at Visible Voice Books as part of the Tremont bookstore's Music Speaks Concert Series. Caitlin Mahoney and Istvan Medgysi join him on the bill. Admission is free. (Niesel)
