The Pop Shop Gallery and Studio welcomes the new year with 52 Weeks 52 Works, an exhibit inspired by a calendar. Local graphic design company Academy Graphic Communication’s 2007 calendar features a new color photo of Ohio artwork each week and compiles paintings, sculptures, and photography.

Artists like Todd Leech and Brooke Figer will attend tonight’s opening, where you can also pick up the calendar. “It’s just a nice project that shows off artists,” says Cihlar, who contributed a mixed-media piece. “And you’ve got something new every week.” But don’t expect to see the very same works you see in print.

“It’s a free-for-all,” says gallery owner Rich Cihlar. “We told the artists they could decide what they wanted to show.” Several of them chose to display the same works shown in the calendar.
Mondays-Fridays, 12-7 p.m. Starts: Jan. 8. Continues through Feb. 3
