Besides you, there’s nothing Pop loves more than a classic car show. So treat him to one of the oldest in America — Stan Hywet’s 55th Classic, Antique, and Collector Car Show — and ensure your spot as his favorite. “We’re seeing many people who are attending from across the Northeast Ohio region because it’s such a fun day, as well as a terrific family event,” says Stan Hywet’s communication manager Donna Spiegler. From 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., you and the old man can ogle more than 350 automobiles manufactured between 1896 and 1978. For those dads with the need for speed, this year also includes a new muscle-car category. GameTruck will be bringing car-themed video games to the picnic area, in case the small fry get bored. “It’s a wonderful way to honor Dad on his special day. We see a dad bringing his dad — and his son, too! It’s not unusual to see three generations looking at cars together,” says Spiegler. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6 to 17. Children 5 and under are free. There is no on-site parking, but free shuttle service from nearby lots is available all day; check the website for details.
