All in teh Family

Gallery gathers 150 years of artsy relatives.

Four generations of a French Impressionist dynasty are represented in Contessa Gallery’s Lasting Impressions: The Pissarro Family Legacy. The exhibit features nearly 60 oil, watercolor, and ink works by nine members of the Pissarro clan. Patriarch Camille checks in with the 1862 landscape “Cheval Blanc et Tombereau,” while son Georges’ 1912 painting “Ali Baba No. 2” shows off a dancing girl and her audience. The display also includes paintings by 44-year-old great-granddaughter Lélia.
