All the Rage

The opening scene of the Spanish domestic-abuse drama Take My Eyes lets you know that you're in for one hell of an emotional ride. Battered wife Pilar leaves the apartment she shares with her perpetually angry husband Antonio in the middle of the night, their young son in tow. She moves in with her sister (who's preparing for her own marriage) and begins a new life. She gets a job and pursues her long-quashed dream of working in a museum. But Antonio, now in therapy to control his rage, returns, begging Pilar's forgiveness. It's a gripping look at a vicious cycle.
