Seasonal Special Happenings

All's Weill

When: Thu., Oct. 30 2014

Oberlin’s Weill Week, a tribute to German composer Kurt Weill (he’s arguably most famous for The Threepenny Opera, which includes the ballad "Mack the Knife"), kicks off today with self-guided art tours at Oberlin’s Allen Museum where you can see scenes from New York City when Weill lived there. The week of festivities include a presentation of his groundbreaking Street Scene opera, talks about his life and career, a cabaret-style performance of his music and a screening of the movie Street Scene. Events continue through Nov. 9. Times and ticket prices vary. For more information, go to http://news.oberlin.edu/articles/wild-about-weill-oberlin-celebrates-composer-week-special-events/. (Niesel)
