Almost Like Being in Love: The Songs of Lerner & Loewe

When: Sun., Nov. 20 2016

Often considered the last of the great Romantics, lyricist Alan Jay Lerner and composer Frederick Loewe wrote four of the most renowned musicals of all time: My Fair Lady, Camelot, Brigadoon and Gigi. They wrote for stars such as Rex Harrison, Julie Andrews, Richard Burton and Leslie Caron. The Musical Theater Project's Almost Like Being in Love: The Songs of Learner & Lowe pays tribute to the two writers. Tonight's show features songs from all four musicals, including “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face,” “Gigi” and “Almost Like Being in Love.” Often called "docu-concerts" or live documentaries, TMTP’s concerts combine live performance with dozens of rare still images and video clips. The event takes place at 2 p.m. at the Hanna Theatre. Tickets are $15 to $60. (Niesel)
