Rock & Pop, Seasonal Special Happenings

When: Wed., Aug. 21, 9 p.m. 2013

When Aqueous’ summer dates dropped earlier this year, waves of disappointment washed over the greater Cleveland area, which was left completely off the map. Apart from weekend trips to Erie or Buffalo, fans in town here were left with a summer of no Aqueous. Until recently, that is. The band quietly added this show to the schedule, giving Clevelanders cause to race into the streets and begin chanting lyrics to “Dr. Brox.” Our jam band brethren from just up the lake in Buffalo are gonna make this night supremely fun. Refresh thyself with a spin-through of last year’s tight-knit funk throwdown Willy Is 40. During an April show at Grog Shop, singer Mike Gantzer explained that the band has been steadily expanding its touring radius. Cleveland, he said, is sort of the next ring of the band’s westward touring. Yosemight opens tonight. Awesomeness. (Sandy)
