Arcade Fire/Dan Deacon/Kid Koala

When: Sun., March 16, 7:30 p.m. 2014

Remember when Arcade Fire charmed everyone with Funeral back in ‘05 and we all fell in love? And there are those two Grammys they’ve won, too. Unlike a lot of bands to make it into the mainstream, they’ve kept true to their style and haven’t lost touch of what makes their music so great. They released Reflektor at the end of October last year, and they’re playing at Quicken Loans Arena tonight. Songs like “Afterlife” and “Awful Sound” feature their trademark instrumental buildup as Butler’s vocals take you through a musical journey that reaches a euphoric wave dotted by percussion and underlined by lovely violin. (Check out the music video for “Afterlife” — it functions as a movie short.) On the other hand, “You Already Know” and “We exist” both take on a more soulful approach with dance-y bass lines and repetitive, back and forth vocals. Be sure to arrive early to catch Dan Deacon and Kid Koala open the show. (Trenholme)

Price: $30.50-$60.50
