Also known as the Armory Show, the 1913 International Exhibition of Modernism that was held in New York at the 69th Regiment Armory, is famous for introducing America to experimental European styles of art such as Cubism and Futurism. It’s the subject of The Show that Shook the World: Marcel Duchamp and the 1913 Armory Show, a new documentary film from director Garry Gates that arrives in conjunction with the exhibition's anniversary. The film highlights the groundbreaking work of Marcel Duchamp, the French painter, writer and sculptor. The film screens at 6:30 tonight and at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
