When: June 2-3 2012
The summer art bazaar season kicks off this weekend at Lyndhurst’s Legacy Village. The Art in the Village fest features dozens of local and national artists collectively displaying millions of dollars worth of wares. Everything is hand made in the good ol’ USA. Fortunately, you don’t have to buy it all — although the creators will be offering paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, and more for a wide array of budgets. Even if you’re not in the buying mood, there’s plenty to take in. Musical acts as diverse as Saborit Latin Soul, the rockabilly Champagnes, and swingy blues crooners The Rhythm Syndicate play Saturday. Cajun-blues fusionists Cats on Holiday drops in on Sunday, followed by swing jazzists Blue Lunch. Wine tastings happen from noon to 6 p.m. both days, for which you can fob off your children at the interactive Kids Art Zone. All the Village’s usual food vendors, plus traditional carnie-style fried stuff, will provide sustenance. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.Saturd and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and details are on the website.
