Band on the Run

When Chris Allen and Doug McKeon aren't paying tribute to the Pogues in the Boys From the County Hell, they're making some extra cash with Walkin' Cane's Austin Charanghat in the $100 Trio. The rockers have become a twice-a-month staple at the Harp. If one of the guys can't make a show, Tom Prebish from Bolo Deluxe fills in. "It's either juggle the gigs or get a real job," laughs Charanghat. Thankfully, Aimee Kenik, the Harp's talent coordinator, continues to put them to work. "They play everything from Led Zeppelin to Johnny Cash," she says. "Just an all-around good time."
