Beachland Halloween VI: The Hot Rails/New Planet Trampoline/Village Bicycle/Not So Good Ol Boys/Josh Jesty/Chad Hill

When: Fri., Nov. 2, 8 p.m. 2012

For the past five years, the Beachland has hosted a blow-out Halloween show featuring local indie rock acts playing sets of classic rock covers. It’s a novel idea that yields surprising dividends on an annual basis. This year’s lineup features acts like the Hot Rails, B-Side Mantra, and Village Bicycle, who will respectively play sets of Motley Crue, the Cure, and the Bangles. The Not So Good Ol Boys will take on the music of Waylon Jennings and Josh Jesty & Friends will do their best Pixies impersonation. In addition, Great Lakes Brewing Company is sponsoring the event and will have $5 Christmas Ale drafts flowing all night. That’s a good thing, because you’ll probably need to pound a few to get through that Hot Rails set, which is bound to be obnoxious, considering the guys have put together elaborate outfits and are taking the whole thing quite seriously.
