Looking back in our extensive theater archives, it's stunning how often we've praised Aled Davies. Well, maybe not so surprising, since the audiences have bestowed this honor upon him. Over and over, our theater critic has noted how Davies can squeeze the very best out of a role, even if the character isn't a particularly dynamic one, and how so very often he can rescue a so-so production. He can draw out the very last and best drops of vulnerability, humor, pathos and all the other raw human emotions that make theater captivating. whether he's playing Scrooge or King Lear.
