Everything is so amped at Lorain Speedway: the sights, the smells, the sounds. The weekly races feature such NASCAR-sanctioned divisions as Late Models, Modifieds, Grand Nationals, and Spectator Stocks. We have no idea what all that means either, but we do know that it makes for one helluva ride on Saturday nights from April through September. You get to see superfast cars tearing up the asphalt, screeching around corners, and smashing into each other, all for a mere $12! (And it's free for kids under 12.) In addition to the competitive racing, the track hosts promotional events like a Kids Day (where little ones can pedal their bikes around the 3/8-mile oval), a Powder Puff Race (where ladies get their Jeff Gordons on), and appearances by NASCAR stars like Bill Elliott and Sterling Marlin for autograph sessions.
