A small bar with a big blues sound, the House of Swing will transport you back to an old-style juke joint from the 1920s. It may be called the House of Swing, but if you want to hear some of the best blues music Cleveland has to offer, this is the place to be. Owned and operated by Linda Kallie, the House of Swing hosts live bands on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Thursday night is open jam night. The rest of the week, patrons can come hear the best in swing, blues, and jazz music from a collection of over 15,000 vintage albums and 78s, which belonged to Kallie's late husband, Louis. Kallie said when she and her husband opened the bar in 1977, it was to provide a place to play all of those vintage tunes. The House of Swing has surpassed their goal, having given Clevelanders a place to sit back, relax, and enjoy the blues.
