Best Departure

Dwight Clark, from the Cleveland Browns

It was a good thing the Browns had 50 years of history behind them. Their first two years back in the league were disastrous, even by expansion standards. (Dennis Northcutt, the 32nd overall pick in the draft?) So CEO Carmen Policy finally went out and hired a dictator, Butch Davis. Of course, it took Director of Football Ops Dwight Clark a year to realize that with Davis in town, his duties had been reduced to Starbucks runs. The real question is how the vacant-eyed pretty boy got the gig in the first place. From his earliest TV interviews, it seemed obvious that he wasn't carrying a Mensa card in his wallet.
