The Cleveland Metroparks has a bit of a leg up in this category. Due to their hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails in Cleveland and the suburbs, not to mention the lakefront parks (which they took over from the State of Ohio in 2014), a "free outing" at the Metroparks is basically synonymous with "going outside." It's no accident that the marketing team has used, "Come out and play" as its tagline for a few years. When you take advantage of the region's rich outdoor offerings alone or with family or friends, you're often on Metroparks land. Now celebrating its centennial year, the Metroparks system provides the perfect time and place to continue celebrating the outdoors in Northeast Ohio, and for the most part it won't cost you a dime.
