Best Kosher Fast Food

Keeping a kosher kitchen requires separate facilities for meat and dairy, as well as having an Orthodox Jew on hand to supervise preparation -- requirements few restaurants care to meet. But not SUBWAY, which launched its first -- and so far, only -- kosher operation a little more than two years ago inside the Mandel Jewish Community Center. The bright, airy eatery, open to the public and settled just inside the main entrance, serves typical Subway sandwiches -- sans the cheese, bacon, and ham, of course. Our fave is the turkey, stuffed with plenty of firm, fresh-tasting meat. Add some soy-based cheese and lettuce, and it just might make a believer out of you.
