Best Local Fodder for a Book

Doomed Poet Hart Crane

In the newly published Hart Crane: A Biography, by Clive Fisher, Crane is described as "a gifted writer with a weakness for alcohol, a demanding mother, and an untimely death by suicide." Could a better subject be found for a book? Indeed, Crane was a Cleveland native and poet, who struggled with drinking, depression, and homosexuality his entire life, and ended it all by jumping off a boat in the Gulf of Mexico -- probably to be eaten by sharks. How can we not be proud to call this man a native son?
