Nothing tops getting serenaded by a group of men in silver-studded charros, singing their hearts out in Spanish about unrequited love. And no one does it better than Joya de Mexico. Originally from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, this Lorain-based group has been spreading the somber sounds of their native land throughout Cleveland since 2003, performing everywhere from greasy-spoon Mexican joints to NASA Glenn. Unlike some of the imitations in town, Joya de Mexico doesn't skimp on authenticity, having worked with some of the best cantantes back home. You can catch the group around town or, even better, reserve them for your own private fiesta.
