Some people look forward to Northeast Ohio's crazy winters and embrace the seemingly never-ending onslaught of snow. Those people voted Brandywine Ski Resort — just 20 miles south of Cleveland — as the best place to ski this year. It boasts 11 trails, eight lifts, two terrain parks, 48 acres for skiing and the always-fun Polar Blast snow tubing area. No worries if you're not any good — they've got cheap equipment rentals, private and group lessons and plenty of space to get your bearings without the risk of going straight off a cliff. The college ID late-night skiing specials, held this year on Friday nights in January and February, are always popular with the student crowd who loves a bargain under the lights.
