Best Place to Adopt a Pet

Cleveland Animal Protective League

The APL has provided me with two healthy, well-adjusted felines. A word of warning —don't visit unless you're ready to take a pet home, because you will find yourself giving in once you've made eye contact with an animal in need. If you're curious, visit the APL's web site, which offers pictures and descriptions of available animals. The roster offers something for every kind of pet owner, and the volunteers and workers seem to know a little bit about each animal (workers described both of my cats' habits and personalities to a tee). The APL facility is clean and the organization neuters the animals and provides basic shots. (1729 Wiley Ave., 216.771.4616, — Guevara
